From what I've seen, there are 2 types of cabin tents: the kind you take with you and set up and the kind that's already ready when you arrive at the site. Both are excellent, although portables are hard to set up.
Cabin tents are sturdier and more spacious than the average tent. They feel more like a domicile than just a sleeping spot - you can actually hang out in them and have some fun while you're protected from the elements. So if you have the funds, buy a portable one or pick a campsite with a cabin or canvas tent option.
It sure is spacious
