When you're a kid, many things define your childhood: toys, TV shows, school friends, and pens. Cool pens in elementary school were where it was at! I have no idea why.
We, and by "we" I mean the girls, were super into different colored gel pens. We would collect different colors and trade them among our classmates. We'd even trade the glitter gel pens that were mainly for poster boards. Oh man, don't get me started on making poster board art for a class project. That stuff was on fire.
I had this friend who, even through out high school, would take notes in class and then redo the notes in different colors when she got home. I never understood that. She was such a Type A personality that she needed to have control even over the way her notes looked. I have ADD so that just doesn't fly for me. Ha!
As an adult, I was pretty surprised to learn that people collect pens. There are some super intricate ones out there. Embossed or engraved or even with etchings on them!
Whenever I see gel pens at Target, I always take a little trip down memory lane to the excitement of a new, cool pen.
Scratch and sniff!
Puffy gel pens
Remember the pen with different ink
So. Many. Gel. Pens!

“Cool pens in elementary school was where it was at!”
