My son has started a square dancing unit at school. I looked into it, and what I ended up finding was appalling. Square dancing in schools is directly linked with white supremacy. I am not kidding. I wish I was kidding.
My 5th grader got into the car after school with a sour expression. I asked him what was wrong, and he told me they were doing square dancing in gym class. They were doing that when I was in school. I didn't think much of it as a girl, but apparently it was pushed for by Henry Ford who as it turns out, was a huge racist and adored Adolf Hitler.
Apparently, Henry Ford's adoration for Adolf Hitler was not one-sided. Hitler mentions Ford favorably in his book "Mein Kampf". I have never been more glad I drive a Honda.
Apparently, Ford was worried that jazz music was a Jewish conspiracy that would corrupt America's youth. So he proposed a revival of square dancing in order to fight back against Jazz. This sounds absurd, and it is. However, it is true. Ford put out multiple volumes of what he called "The International Jew". Seems Ford blamed the Jews for everything.
Ford believed blacks were inferior to whites, and that they were being controlled by the Jews. I have to believe that our educators are not familiar with these facts. Otherwise...
"Popular music is a Jewish monopoly. Jazz is a Jewish creation. The mush, slush, the sly suggestion, the abandoned sensuousness of sliding notes, are of Jewish origin.” -Henry Ford
“ Ford was worried that jazz music was a Jewish conspiracy”
This Doesn't Belong In Schools
Continuing traditions rooted in white supremacy is absurd. If my son had any say, he wouldn't be doing square dancing at all.
If people knew the history behind this, kids wouldn't be learning it.
Public educators must not know the history of square dancing in gym class. We have to spread this information.
