Did you ever do that thing as a kid, where you put pennies on a railway track for the train to flatten? Yeah, so dumb. Do kids still do that? How do we tell them to stop?
I'm not sure if an adult told me how bad of an idea it was to put pennies on a railway track, if I just figured it out myself, or maybe an older kid was like, "Um, no, that's dangerous"; but it's a bad idea. It's such a dangerous thing to do. A) because a kid is putting things on the tracks and what if they don't hear a train?
And B) because that can cause serious train derailment. It might seem innocuous, it's just a simple penny, but trains derail all the time and who would want culpability like that?
There was this section of train tracks in the county park of my city. It was right next to the lake. It didn't house an actual train, but instead, the little park train.
