Even shoes, which are very important-- a good golf shoe means your comfort out there when you're playing nine or eight-teen holes. I have several pairs that I rotate on a regular basis. But, thing that I see people forget or take for granted out there on the course is the golf hat! You guys! It's sunny out there. Our faces need protection.
I have a few friends that refuse to wear a hat because they don't like getting "hat hair". So, get a crew cut, then, and that fixes the problem. I don't see the issue here.
Because even if you wear sunscreen (and that is also a must out there on the course) you still need to shield your face & eyes from the sun. Sunglasses are good to have on hand, as well, but they can easily fly off of your face when you look down or get too rowdy out there on the green. It's also a great idea to wear a hat because it catches your sweat.
I've seen guys out there on hot summer days with no hat on and they just wipe their foreheads onto their expensive polo shirts. Why would you do that? You're ruining your shirt.
If you're worried about ruining a hat with sweat, don't be! Just buy several hats and rotate them and then get them cleaned. It's really not hard to take care of yourself out there on the green.
