My husband passed away a little over five years ago. After meeting in the summer of 1967, we went on a camping trip together in Utah. The sight was exquisite, so we ditched our tent and slept under the stars.
We married the following year and for our honeymoon we camped out at the same spot. We have gone back every summer since. At first it was the two of us, then our children, then our grandchildren. After my husband's passing, our family went up there to spread his ashes. The family still goes back every summer to visit him and watch the stars.
The Utah night sky is simply breathtaking.
The stars look so much brighter here than they do in the city.
“After his passing we went up there to spread his ashes.”
We took this photo the summer before his passing.
Watching the stars with my husband.
I love the sunrise because the stars are still out as the sun comes up.
I still am in awe when I look through photos of our ventures.
I've been trying to understand astronomy a bit more, lately. It's always been intriguing to me, but I fear my brain doesn't grasp the concepts well! The concept that was easiest to grasp was Aphelion and Perihelion.
