I Look At Exchange Sites, TripAdvisor And Hotels.com For Vacation Ideas

When it comes to ideas for vacations, I never have a problem coming up with where to go because I have a giant list of places I want to see that keeps getting longer.
How does it keep getting longer, you may wonder. Well, we use a vacation exchange site through our timeshare, which allows us to stay in a ton of places around the world for a very small amount of money (typically 1/3 of what you'd pay for a weekly stay). We have kids so if we can't afford flights somewhere...
... sometimes we'll just pick a resort within driving distance and stay there for a week, just to get away. That's fun for any kid. So if you're able to join a vacation exchange club -
- do it! I also love using TripAdvisor for new vacation ideas. Because the content is mostly user-generated, you can get a good handle on what will meet your needs as a family.
And then my other little favorite, when we have some extra cash to spend on flights for our whole family, is to use Google Flights. You can do general searches to see what destinations might offer the best flight deals at any given day or month. Pretty handy and more user-friendly than most airline search sites.
I also noticed Hotels.com is starting to offer articles about destinations that detail what to do and what the flavor of the place is. Love that too.
