My Best Experiences Taking Trains To London

I first started spending my winters and springs in England back in the 1970's. Over the years I have taken many trains, and the most interesting things happen when I'm riding to London.
One trip I remember well was then it was pouring outside. The rain hitting the train was loud and a little scary. A couple sitting near me noticed I was getting scared and started talking to me. They asked me about where I was from, and I ended up telling them about Massachusetts. They told me they were both from London.
They ended up offering me some candy I had never had before. The candy was called Jelly Babies. They didn't look very much like candy I had ever seen, but I gladly tried some.
I did not like the Jelly Babies! Not one bit! Especially the purple ones. But I had to keep a brave face and not let this nice couple I had just met that I didn't like their candy!
I thought about hiding the jelly babies in my pocket, but I didn't want all of my stuff in there to get sticky. I definitely couldn't drop them behind my seat, that wouldn't be fair to the other passengers on the train. I ended up swallowing them while trying to taste them as little as possible.
My plan was not a good one, and I ended up choking on one of those terrible purple babies. What are the odds?! The couple helped me and I apologized for the rest of the ride.
Gross!

It was raining a lot harder than this.

I hope that couple got back home dry.

Smarties are a much better train treat.
