My Father and I Built Our Very Own Photography Darkroom In Our Basement

I come from a very creative family. Everyone is artistic in one way or another. My Father is a photographer and passed his passion for photography onto me. He has taught me everything he knows.
When I was a kid in the 1970's, and digital photography was still decades away, my Father gifted me my very first camera. It was his first camera that he had gotten in the 1960's at the start of his photography career. He had been through a lot with that camera but felt it was time to pass it along to me.
My older Brothers were not happy about his decision to give it to me rather than them, but he knew I would make more use of it than anyone else. Plus with me it would be in good care.
When I got a little older my Father and I decided to build our own dark room in our basement. It was the perfect spot as it had no windows and no one in our family ever went down there.
For years our basement was filled with junk, so we decided to have a garage sale. With that money Dad and I bought an enlarger for our dark room. We found an incredible old enlarger at an estate sale and it was a steal! It took both my Father and I to carry the heavy piece of machinery to its new home in our basement.
Through the years we developed hundreds of photos together in that darkroom. Though we both switched to digital photography, he still has the darkroom set up in his home.
