A Toucan in the wild

My favorite part of the Milwaukee zoo are the Toucans.

I haven't been overseas, but I'd love to go to Central America. Until then, I have to get in my exotic bird fix by going to the Milwaukee zoo in the summer time. I love going to the zoo.
The Milwaukee zoo takes such great care of their animals. I know zoos aren't ideal places for animals, but they can be really great for endangered species. Plus, it's a great place to see all the animals you wouldn't normally see in your regular life. I love to go to the bird aviary and see the exotic birds.
Some of my favorite to view are the Toucans. They are just so colorful and unusual! I know we're all familiar with Toucan Sam of Fruit Loops cereal, but the real thing is so cool!
Toucans are really social birds and prefer to live in packs of twenty of so other Toucans. They're a bit private for breeding season, though. Pairs will disperse and then return later.
They bring their offspring back to the group, which increases in size then. It's like one big happy family! They prefer heavily forested areas, as they breed inside of trees. Their bills often account for half of their size and despite their hugeness, they're quite light-- they're made of a more spongy material.
I love many other things at the zoo. The birds are first and then the tigers! I know, very different species, but tigers are just so majestic. How can you not gravitate towards them?
