I'll never forget learning about Physics on a field trip to Six Flags in Gurnee, IL. Our Physics teacher created groups; extra credit went to our group for solving the Physics problems first.
After Physics field trip, I realized I had a strong connection to Physics and wanted to learn more, potentially pursuing it as a major in college. I especially wanted to figure out a way to get into designing amusement rides! I really wanted to understand how to maximize G-Forces on the roller coasters.
When I was in college, I was able to intern at the German design firm Werner Stengel, which helped develop the first roller coaster "loop", located at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Ohio University actually has a Master in Engineering Management program that focuses on Engineering Amusement Park rides. I audited courses there and learned a great deal.
