When I was younger my personal style was straight tomboy. I wore baseball caps, long t-shirts, baggy shorts and dirty sneakers. I didn't care much about appearance. Comfort was key.
One evening I went to the movie theater and watched the movie Clueless with my mother. I was blown away by the fashion in the movie. It was very girl and nothing I was used to. The girls in the film wore colorful skirts, overalls, big hats and fun heels. Up until seeing this film I had always been a tomboy and was happy .
After the film I begged my mom to take me shopping for a new wardrobe. I wanted to look just like the girls in the film. My mom was totally on board as she wanted me to kick the tomboy stuff anyway. We went shopping for a wardrobe inspired by Clueless. I couldn't completely rid of my tomboy style though.
I dressed in a way that was girly with a little bit of edge. I would include boots with my floral print dress. Sometimes a leather jacket with a lace shirt. I loved a good mixture.
I had combined both worlds for the type of fashion I was into. Eventually I created a blog showcasing my personal style.
“I dressed in a way that was girly with a little bit of edge.”
