Nature Photography Takes A Good Eye And Patience For The Best Shot

Have you ever tried to get the perfect photo of a sunrise or sunset in the middle of nowhere? I have. It's what taught me patience. There's nothing like waiting on mother nature. She's the boss.
Sometimes I like to take photos when I go on long hikes outside the city. The city I live in is very congested and hiking helps me decompress. The photos I take are placed around the house. They remind me that peace of mind is only a few miles away. The photos usually take me the mindset I had when I took the picture.
The most recent hike I took was about seventeen miles outside of town. I took off around 4:00 AM set up my equipment and have a little coffee before sunrise. I got to my spot and setup.
There wasn't a single person for miles. Just how I like it. I was in complete silence. Just me, the camera and nature. I wait about an hour and a half before catching the sunrise.
When it finally happened, I was ready. I captured the most epic photos. The sun inched its way out and I was able to grab each phase as the sun lit the sky. I knew I captured something special. I saw with each photo snapped. I even felt a couple tears pour down my face. I'd never witnessed something so breathtaking.
I ended up printing out those photos and framing them in my bedroom. They hang directly in front of the bed. I now have that sunrise to wake up to each and everyday. It's such a sight.
