According to Wikipedia, 'the AKM is a 7.62mm assault rifle designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov. It is a common modernized variant of the AK-47 rifle developed in the 1940s.'
These assault rifles are legal in a number of states, but illegal in CA, CT, DE, HI, IL, MA, MN, NJ, NY, RI, WA and WI, so many gun enthusiasts own them. I'm not entirely sure why and I'm still confused about the difference between this and the AR-15 (Are they both semi-automatics?). So if anyone can enlighten me... I'm all ears.
If you're not in the army...
“This gun is completely illegal in Canada so why not here?”
