The Battle of Carentan Inspired My Collection of World War II Memorabilia

I first learned about the Battle of Carentan when I was in college, half asleep in my history class. When the professor started revealing the details of these arduous attacks, I sat up straight.
After that fateful class, I started researching what kind of items were associated with these attacks, especially the Battle of Bloody Gulch. It turned out that there are many different collector's items to be found in relation to World War II, most of them located in Europe. This inspired me to go on a week long trip to Europe.
Since that trip to discover lost artifacts of the battles, I have developed other interests such as making pottery and virtual reality gaming, but I have my growing collection in sight.
Exploring this interest of mine has been very fulfilling, and has pushed me to travel the world more as well. Learning about the Battle of Carentan has been so rewarding for me.
I used to go to estate sales all the time looking for specific items from different battles during World War II, but now I have become more relaxed in my collecting. When something pops up on eBay, I will investigate it, but now I like to relax and just peruse different collectors' sites online for fun.
This deep love of mine for World War II memorabilia has taught me the importance of maintaining prized antiques from decades past in order to keep history in tact.
