I just found out that my favorite book as a child, The Poky Little Puppy is one of the top selling books of all time. I don't know why I think this is funny, but I do. Aren't top selling books supposed to be adult ones?
I loved that book, though. That Poky Little Puppy was so cute. He liked to just chill outside without his brothers and sisters. He got into mischief and then came home without punishment (until the end) and had dessert! Love it. I loved the book so much, that's why my parents got me Buster. He was my very own Poky puppy.
My poky little puppy...
I totally had this glass growing up!

The Poky Little Puppy
Oh man, I totally would have had this if it had been around!
In the past I've always been a left brain thinker. I liked to read growing up but only non-fiction informative books about science, the body, and architecture. So I was surprised when I received a poetry book as a gift.
My daughter was never interested in comic books, but my boys were and now my grandchildren are. I love how stories are told in such an illustrative way! It's such a wonderful way to engage a child with reading.
I'm terrible at summaries, always have been. It was awful writing book reports in school & don't even get me started on when I try to explain the plot of a movie or TV show to someone! But, I should practice, because practice makes perfect.
Dear Socks, Dear Buddy is a book written towards the end of the 20th century, and features kids' letters to the then presidential pets. The interesting part about this story is the fact that Socks and Buddy did not get along well. Socks was not content to share the Whitehouse with Buddy. Drama!
