When I found an affinity for cannons as a kid growing up, I started really get into heavy artillery. It's just big and scary and cool and I dig it. I don't mean, I want it used, but it's fascinating to see.
Like the T-90 Russian Battle tank. The thing is HUGE! It's not even that old-- it started service in 1993. It's relatively modern and it launches smoke grenades! Big artillery like this makes me giddy like a school boy & I'm really not sure why. I've paid to enter a giant tank like this before. It was thrilling sitting inside that small chamber!
A Russian T-90 tank.
How to paint one.
“It's relatively modern and it launches smoke grenades!”
If you Google T-34, you'll see immediately that this Soviet tank had a profound and lasting effect on tank design throughout the world. Its firepower, ruggedness, protection and mobility was unmatched.
My father proudly had a militaria collection ever since I can remember. He fought in World War II and was a First Class Petty Officer in the Navy. A few years back he lost his entire collection in a house fire. I wanted to help him get started on a new collection, but I don't know where to start.
For many years I thought my dad's SKS riffle was something that was passed down from his grandfather, to his father and then on to him. Not at all the story. I almost still want to believe what I made up.
