I am a pretty fit individual, especially for having four kids! One of the staples of my workout routine is Vinyasa yoga. In life I sometimes feel like I can't catch my breath.
Vinyasa is great, because it's such a breath-synchronized movement exercise. Even if my mind is in super wander mode that day, the movements are linked together in such a way that I'm immediately drawn back in to the action and how my breath is pairing with the movement. Breath is central to yoga and especially with Vinyasa.
Even my kids will do it with me! Sometimes I just don't have time to head to the gym or the yoga studio, so I'll pop on a video at home and the kids will join in! I love that I get to share that activity with them; it gets them moving and stretching and also teaches them breathing techniques. School can be stressful!
Now that I have a teenager as well, I'm trying to get him to want to do a little Vinyasa with me at home. He's definitely entering the "I'm so embarrassed by you phase", though.
At least I can cultivate the practice in my little ones. I'm going to hold onto them forever and not let them grow up!
