This little city is so off the beaten path that if you don't live in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan or Illinois, you probably don't know about its existence.
This tiny town, about an hour north of Madison (Wisconsin's capital) is like a kids play land during the summertime. It's basically a town that's exclusively for tourism. The small town was built around the Wisconsin River and has beautiful sandstone formations, which is how this area started.
Then came the water parks, rides and attractions, including Noah's Ark, the largest water park in the United States. Now of course this is Wisconsin so there are only some months out of the year where you can enjoy a water park but the summers there are gorgeous and completely worth it.
What's more is that most resorts and hotels there have elaborate pools that cater to kids as well, like Great Wolf Lodge and Chula Vista resort, which has indoor/outdoor water parks.
So gear up for lots of outdoor fun and make sure you take time to explore the natural scenery there too - it's lovely.
