When Stephanie was around seven years old, we thought that maybe a martial arts class would be a good thing for her. We knew that it builds confidence, respect and strength (physical and character).
We had friends who's kids had been in Aikido for a few years, and they highly recommended it. We looked into it and really liked the philosophy of blending an attacker's movements with one's own in a way to overcome and control with minimal effort. Stacey lasted three classes before she told us that she'd rather be in a ballet class.
