Music, Innovation, Technology
Robert Moog (German last name, rhymes with "vogue"), was a pioneer in the field of electronic music. Though he submitted many patents for inventions, he is best known for his groundbreaking Moog Synthesizer. Before Moog, synthesizers were not the most "user friendly" machines. They looked more like a NASA control panel than a musical instrument. Moog's synthesizer was the first to have a piano-type keyboard as a controller. The Moog Synthesizer and subsequent Minimoog Model D provided the public with an affordable, easily understandable entry to electronic music. Any sick synth solos or far-our theremin sounds have Bob Moog to thank.
