Philanthropy, Charity, Giving Back
There are many holidays with a focus on giving back to your community. Jews donate money to the poor on Purim, and Muslims have the entire month of Ramadan dedicated to fasting, introspection, and giving. For those who want a more secular approach to a charity-focused holiday, PASH is happy to inform you that today is National Philanthropy Day. Since 1986, November 15th has been observed as National Philanthropy Day in the United States. The term "philanthropy" may conjure images of billionaires like Bill and Melinda Gates, National Philanthropy day can be observed by anyone of any economic background. In many cases, your time is the most valuable thing you can volunteer.
