“Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” - A. A. Milne
Today we commemorate classic children’s literature author A.A. Milne, born on this day in 1882. Milne created Winnie-the-Pooh, inspired by his son Christopher Robin’s friendly relationship with a black bear at the London Zoo named Winnie. The tales of the happy-go-lucky, honey-loving bear and his animal friends were a tremendous international success with young children. Disney eventually bought the right’s to Milne’s characters in 1961, and since then Milne’s original works have inspired countless books, films, and television series.
