“The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.” - Lucille Ball
Do you love Lucy? Because we sure do! The multi-talented comedic actress rose to international fame after starring in her eponymously-named show “I Love Lucy”, which practically invented the situational comedy. Ball was the first woman to head a production company, titled Desilu, a portmanteau of her name and her husband and longtime costar Desi Arnaz. After the show ended its six-year run in 1957, Lucille Ball hosted many other successful shows and paved the way for fellow comedic actresses like Carol Burnett and Vicki Lawrence. Almost 70 years later, Ball’s comedic genius still connects with new generations as “I Love Lucy” reruns still air all over the world.
