“Every bad situation is a blues song waiting to happen.” — Amy Winehouse, Grammy Award-Winning Singer and Songwriter
Happy Birthday to six-time Grammy Award winner Amy Winehouse — the gifted singer and songwriter would have been 36 years old today. Winehouse’s 2003 debut album was a modest success and earned her a Mercury Prize nomination, but it was her 2006 follow-up album titled “Back to Black” that made her a worldwide sensation, with the autobiographical hit "Rehab" leading the way. Winehouse made history at the 2008 Grammy Awards, tying the then-record for the most wins by a female artist in a single night, including three of the "Big Four" awards: Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Tragically, Winehouse passed away at the age of 27 in July 2011 — far too early for this supremely talented musician.
